press releases

Press releases contain an official statement to the media with information, or announcement. A press release must contain: Headline, Intro, Body, Newsworthy Info and Contact Info.

Businesses are constantly working on different things that need to be done, and the best way to inform the public on those business activities is through a press release. However, the press release is no longer the same old boring block of text that it used to be in the past.

These days, reporters and journalists need to receive ready-made stories that they know the public is going to be interested in reading.

It’s not supposed to have any false promises or to simply be a sales pitch that the journalist is going to promote to the audience. Additionally, the press release shouldn’t include a list of technical information about the new product that’s being launched, and it shouldn’t be a glorified biography of the founder of the business.

There are several different types of press releases that all have their own purposes.

Product Launch Press Release

These press releases are some of the most common, as businesses tend to launch new products frequently these days. They are aimed at attracting both reporters and consumers and have to announce some of the important details about the new product.

Research Findings Press Release

Businesses have to do research before they develop a new product or provide a new service, and this type of press release is best used to inform the public about the findings from the research. It should talk about the reason behind the research as well as the benefits of the results.

Emergency Announcement Press Release

The emergency announcement press release is used, as the name itself states – during an emergency. It’s about something that’s currently happening, and the topic should be about something that’s going to have an impact on the audience.

New Hire Press Release

This type of press release is fairly simple – it talks about the person that’s being hired and the role that they are going to be working in. It also tends to include any past achievements as well as the person’s qualifications for the role.

Award Announcement Press Release

It is announcing an award that a business has received needs to focus on the business that has received the award, the name of the award itself, as well as whoever gave that award to the business.

New Business Press Release

This type of press release is used whenever a business is opening a new venture. It should talk about the gaps in the industry that the business is filling with the new opening or how and why it’s going to stand out from the competitors.

Rebranding Press Release

The rebranding press release announces that the company has changed its corporate image. This is a great way for a business to reduce the fear of the unknown with everyone involved, and it promotes clear communication.

Partnership Press Release

Similar to the last one, a partnership means that the business is undergoing some changes that can affect a lot of people. The best way to remove the fear of the unknown with both the customers and the stakeholders is through clear communication – which is what the partnership press release does.
