5WPR today released the Israeli Tech in Florida report — the first comprehensive study of the economic contribution, key sectors, and growth drivers of Israeli-founded technology companies operating across Florida.
The report documents a $7.3 billion gross economic output figure generated by 429 Israeli-founded companies, supporting 26,510 jobs statewide. In Miami-Dade County alone, Israeli-founded companies account for $6 billion in output and 2.78% of county GDP. Employees at Israeli-founded firms earn 12% more than the Florida state average, rising to 51% above the county average in Orange County.
The Mamdani Factor
The report identifies an accelerating macro trend beyond the structural advantages Florida has long offered Israeli companies. The political environment in New York City — where Zohran Mamdani’s rise has created a more openly hostile climate for the Jewish and Israeli business community — is driving a measurable shift in where Israeli entrepreneurs choose to base U.S. operations. USIBA president Aaron Kaplowitz has documented Israeli founders increasingly citing Florida’s welcoming environment as a decisive factor. That perception is translating into business location decisions that will compound over time.
Sectors and Infrastructure
Israeli companies in Florida are concentrated in cybersecurity, healthtech, agritech, cleantech, fintech, defenstech, and space technology. The Florida-Israel Business Accelerator (FIBA), operating since 2016 with state backing, has supported more than 100 companies entering the market, raising more than $1 billion collectively. Israel Tech Week Miami, now in its second year, provides the conference infrastructure that connects Israeli founders with U.S. investors, corporate partners, and media.
