I am proud and happy that Everything-PR is the most cited PR publication in AI answers to general PR agency and PR how-to questions, with 2,015 citations from Oct. 3 to Nov. 2, 2026, according to Profound data. That is third among all 8,221 cited domains, ahead of every PR trade publication in the study. Building it has been a lot of fun.
What do the citation numbers show about Everything-PR?
Everything-PR received 2,015 citations in Profound's Public Relations category between Oct. 3 and Nov. 2, 2026, more than any PR trade publication tracked. Everything-PR has 2.2 times the citations of Provoke Media and 2.8 times those of O'Dwyer's.
| Publication | Rank among 8,221 cited domains | Citations |
|---|---|---|
| Everything-PR | 3 | 2,015 |
| Provoke Media | 8 | 925 |
| O'Dwyer's | 10 | 724 |
| PRNEWS | 32 | 296 |
| PR Daily | 95 | 122 |
| PRWeek | 135 | 100 |
| Ragan | 1,549 | 11 |
Profound counts a citation when an AI answer links to or sources a page on a domain. The count uses the 197 broad PR agency and PR how-to questions that Profound tags General, such as "how much does crisis PR cost", asked on ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Microsoft Copilot. Only YouTube and Google rank above Everything-PR among the 8,221 domains cited.
Why does this make me proud and happy?
This result makes me proud and happy because Everything-PR, which has covered PR news since 2009, now appears ahead of PRNEWS, O'Dwyer's and PRWeek when AI engines answer questions about hiring a PR firm. Those publications were founded in 1944, 1968 and 1984, and the full Everything-PR study lists the sources for each date.
I respect those publications. They broke stories and set standards for this industry, and the data does not say they are weaker. It says AI engines currently reach for different sources when a buyer asks which PR firm to hire.
It is also fun. Measuring how AI engines pick their sources is new work, and I enjoy helping change how an old industry gets found in AI answers. The credit belongs to the editorial team that keeps the rankings, directories, cost guides and research on Everything-PR accurate and current.
I wrote earlier about citation share in PR and about where search is going. This result is one more data point on both.
Where do the PR trades still lead?
The PR trades still lead on general Google AI results. In DataForSEO's US data, PRWeek is cited in 1,292 Google AI answers and O'Dwyer's in 973, against 392 for Everything-PR.
On ChatGPT, DataForSEO shows Everything-PR second for answers citing it (406, behind PRWeek at 635) and first for AI search volume at 25,114, about three times the next publication.
The difference is scope. Profound tracks questions about choosing and working with PR firms, while DataForSEO covers all queries, including breaking industry news, where the established trades are strongest. Brands that want those placements can start with my guide to B2B tech trade press and my timelines in how long PR takes by outlet.
How reliable is this measurement?
This measurement has limits, and I want them stated plainly. Everything-PR measured its own citations and is one of the publications compared. Everything-PR is published by Everything-PR News LLC, a company owned by a shared interest group, and I am its publisher.
The 197 questions were assembled by a PR agency connected to that ownership group, not by Profound or by Everything-PR's editorial team. The count uses only the broad questions tagged General, but it is still one agency's selection of questions, and the results have not been independently audited. A citation is also not a visit or a recommendation.
Frequently asked questions
Is Everything-PR the most read PR publication?
Everything-PR is not shown to be the most read PR publication, because this study measures citations, not readership. A citation means an AI answer sourced a page on the domain, and AI answers often satisfy a reader without a click.
Which publications did Everything-PR out-cite?
On the 197 General questions, Everything-PR out-cited Provoke Media (925 citations), O'Dwyer's (724), PRNEWS (296), PR Daily (122), PRWeek (100) and Ragan (11).
